Loved the location and privacy of the pod, hot tub and log burner. Just stunning. The food was beautiful and the hotel and grounds were so nice. I would definitely return and highly reccommend a stay at the damson dene 🙂

BATHROOM LOOKED LIKE IT WAS RECENTY DONE,SO NICE SHOWER OVER BATH.
COULD NOT FAULT THE BREAKFAST,CONTINENTAL AND AN ARRAY OF FURTHER OPTIONS,WE WENT FOR FULL ENGLISH AND WERE NOT DISSAPOINTED,LOCAL PRODUCE SERVED NICE AND HOT,TEA,COFFE AND TOAST PLENTIFUL.

Spotlessly clean. Great location. Quite but minutes from Bowness. My wife is coeliac so finding somewhere to eat is a problem but found the Boardwalk in Bowness. Excellent all round restaurant with good selection of gluten free options. Flying pig also recommended.

Bowness is a beautiful place to visit, there is something for everyone. There are really good bus links and there’s the lake cruise as well as being able to travel by boat to Ambleside!! There are lots of walks around the area too! Definitely worth a visit, we’ve been a few times already and would return again👍.

Where I stayed was quiet and away from the main road but...
Where I stayed was quiet and away from the main road but only a very short walk to the nearest main road bars restaurants gift shops for example. 10 to 15 minute walk down to Bowness on Windermere pier at the pierced the views were great we took one journey on one of the fairies which gave us wonderful views of the surrounding area the boat was extremely clean and very smooth. Buses were regular every 20 minutes to half an hour it was a bit confusing at some bus stops in different places like Grasmere for example and Ambleside. The 599 open top bus was nice with a audio tour guide of the surrounding area for your journey. Overall our stay or was very pleasant we manage to do everything that we plan to do within our five day trip. The two standout places for me was wast water which is a must see and Rydal water but to be honest it's beautiful whichever place you go to disease just get better and better.Smith - 6.0Scored 6.0
Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere.
Bowness is a lovely location on Lake Windermere. If you like trips by water, it is a good place to visit but a bit lacking in things to do apart from that. There is a good bus service to Kendal or Keswick but leave the car and use public transport. You can go to Ambleside by boat or bus but the town is packed during the summer season.

The staff were friendly and approachable. The restaurant at Burn How is excellent with good variety of breakfast options. The location is superb and within easy reach of town centre as well as the lake. The free parking was just outside the front door of each room and there are two separate entrances to the hotel. There is a lovely garden at the back which allows for a gentle stroll and sitting down with a drink.

The location of the hotel couldn't have been better – it was so close to both the lake and the town, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. There was a bus stop as well right outside the hotel. The manager was so friendly and took the time to provide us with valuable recommendations for places to visit in the area. There was free parking available at the hotel as well.

The location of the house for Bowness on Windermere is ideal, more than adequate parking for 4 cars, All 4 bedrooms with en-suite beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the living area, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen were exceptional. From the initial booking to leaving on our last day, the whole experience was faultless; we will definitely return.
